Seattle Therapy: Behavioral Change Using Hypnosis
It all comes down to your emotions. When they work for you, you feel like you can do everything,
achieve anything. Everyone just wants to be happy...a positive emotion.
When they don't, your whole life revolves around turning those negative ones off.
In my Seattle area (Bellevue) office, you will learn ways to master your emotions.
The first step is in realizing that your negative emotions are not something that is done TO YOU. You are doing
your negative emotions from automatic programming at birth or learned later and stored in your unconscious
(subconscious) mind.
You CAN change that programming using hypnosis. This type of therapy is different than traditional talk
therapy. The major benefit to using hypnotherapy is in getting your results faster.
How does this happen?
Everything you've ever learned is stored in a part of your mind that we call the unconscious (or subconscious)
mind. I use the terms interchangeably. Your unconscious mind (UCM) processes and manages all of your
automatic functions, including your emotions.
We don't like our negative emotions right? But they are ultimately good and useful for us. If we didn't have
them, we would be mentally ill. I am not a doctor and do not work with those folks and refer them to qualified
professionals.
All emotions are chemical releases by the UCM to communicate to us that we are either living right by our
morals, values, and ethics, or we are not. Those morals, values and ethics are stored where? That's right, in the
UCM. The chemical releases then cause the cells in the body to "do something." This creates the FEELING.
What we really want is to feel them only when it is healthy and natural. For instance, it's normal for us to
feel sadness when someone close to us passes on. And we will feel that for a period of time that allows us to
process the loss and grief.
What we don't want is to get "stuck" in those negative emotions. That's emotional mastery. When you understand
and achieve that, then you don't need those distractive behaviors anymore. When your unconscious mind gets a
new learning about what is safe and what isn't, then you lose the irrational fear or phobia
It all happens in the Unconscious Mind and hypnosis gets you there.
Traditional talk therapy is all fine and good. Sometimes, however, you can talk to someone for years about a
problem and you never make the change at that Unconscious Mind level. I see clients who have gone that route before
with little results. Therapy using hypnosis may be your answer.
Behavioral issues that respond very well to therapy using hypnosis are:
- Addictions
- Stress
- Fears and Phobias
- Compulsions (cutting, pinching, hair-pulling, finger-nail biting, etc.)
- Anxiety
- Panic Attacks
**All diagnostic issues require a doctor's ok for us to help you**
The American Psychological Association has approved of the use of hypnosis
